At the College Club Swimming National Championships at The Ohio State University this past weekend, the University of Utah Club Swim and Dive team performed better than ever before with the women placing 9th, the men placing 13th, and the team placing 11th overall! We were absolutely ecstatic, especially considering our previous highest placing was 25th in 2017.
A record 29 swimmers flew to Columbus, Ohio to compete in this meet with close to 2000 swimmers from over 100 universities across the Nation. As a team, 30 swims were in the top 20, 10 swims were in the top 10, and we had our first ever Nationals podium: Nick Skorut taking 2nd place in the 50 Backstroke.
There is no doubt that a huge part of each swimmers individual success was due to the constant support and positivity of the team as a whole, and the Utes were surely some of the best cheer leaders on the crowded pool deck.
We can't wait for our team to continue to develop into one of the powerhouses of College Club Swimming! Here's to a great finish to the 2018-2019 season!
